Constant Adjustments in Poker
To remain an active player in poker, adjust your strategies constantly. It is a known fact that most mediocre players copy the top players. If you are not an underdog, just remember that you are being watched. In all probability your strategies have been spotted and your moves predicted.
If you feel that your moves are easily guessed, it is important to drastically change your stance if you wish to remain long in the poker field. Often, there are spells where you lose even if you try various options or play intensively. The idea is if you are not taking enough risks, you would never come out of the losing phase.
The fundamental aspect of being aggressive is to try out new ideas and strategies. In doing so, it is inevitable that you would be committing mistakes. And, here lies your path to success.
In other words, make mistakes while trying to never make the same mistake again. If one is a passive player and a “call-station” it is likely that he would never go beyond earning few chips. However, if you try to bluff and gamble a bit, it is likely that you would be learning a great deal to know the art of winning the game.
An event can change everything in poker. A single shot can make or break your day. So, you need to time your strategies and tactics depending on the level of expertise of your opponents, the number of chips available to you, and the amount of blinds etc.
Why would you give more time for a meagre stake? You would play aggressively and get what you can in the limited time. The key point to remember is that you need to make new mistakes each time to learn. And, imbibe what the mistake has taught you.
